Choose the right career

CareerHelp is a CD Rom on higher education and career planning, which is useful for high school students. The software aids students to plan their career.

WHAT'S AFTER +2? - A Career-Planning CDROM. If you're faced with choosing a career you are certainly not alone. Deciding on your educational major or selecting a career direction can be a challenging and confusing process. Parents who used to be the career counsellors for their children are no longer able to keep up abreast of changes in today's education and employment scenario.

Neither can they be realistically objective about their children's educational abilities and aptitude. Children too quite often choose a wrong career with the limited information they gather from their immediate associates or role models.

To aid students in making the decision about which career to embark upon, Saras Education Private Limited has developed an informative CDROM Called CareerHelp. Sheela B. Subramanian, who has keen interest in career counselling and teaching, has promoted Saras Education Private Limited. She also conducts seminars in schools and colleges on how to plan one's career.

CareerHelp guides students through its easy-to-use comprehensive career planning exercise. It comprises career self-assessment tools; a section called career cluster covering the various careers and their related subjects in 14 different industries; a career browser providing details of 100 different careers with the skills required; a comprehensive college search (more than 8000) providing vital information such as addresses, telephone numbers and courses offered in colleges around the country; information on competitive examinations for Government employment; scholarship details and various other learning aids.

CareerHelp is targeted at high school and college students and their parents. The idea behind developing CareerHelp is to increase their awareness of contemporary careers vis-a-vis traditional options such as engineering or medicine.

Free counselling is also offered to students through e-mail. The CD priced at Rs. 500.00 is currently being retailed through leading bookstores such as Higginbotham's, Odyssey, SAS and Connexions.
