'Kittie Party' here to stay
WOMAN POWER: `Kittie Party' going strong.
A STAPLE in the lives of middle-class stay at home women, the kitty party's fortunes seem to be looking up with Zee's serial avatar giving it a boost. Shobha De's current foray into writing for television has her all excited and Apurva Purohit, the lady President at Zee, has many on-ground events and promos planned for the serial, all organized around - you guessed it - kitty parties! In fact, Shobha De seems to thrive on the task of writing a daily soap. "I love it. I like the pace. I want to concentrate on getting Kittie Party into the top three programmes of the country.
A daily soap is the closest one comes to real life. Of course it has to be exaggerated a little for it to work as entertainment but I like to follow the rhythms and pace of a woman's existence, as she would live in a daily. It's challenging," she has said recently. Events around the serial will involve Zee's tie-ups with hotels and restaurants to offer tempting discounts to party groups. Looks like the whole hen experience is set to become a whole lot sweeter. Too bad for the roosters!
