Udatha Srikavya, a Std. IV pupil of St. Joseph's School, gave a 12-hour non-stop dance recital at Sri Shiridi Sai Baba temple, Railway New Colony recently. She presented Annamacharya Keertanas in Kuchipudi style. She commenced her performance at 6.15 a.m. and concluded it at 6.15 p.m.
She performed well to the keertananas, "Kondalalo nelakonna koneti rayudu vadu... ", "Vinnapalu vinavale... ", "Ayyababo Ikkadunnava... ", "Kalaganti, Kalaganti... ", which are all invocations to Lord Venkateswara.
The girl was allowed to take a five-minute break after every three hours. "She holds a lot of promise and I have no doubt that she will soon make it to the Limca Book of Records for the longest number of hours of non-stop dancing", says her dance teacher, S. Nirmala.
Galla Chittibabu and Namana Usha provided vocal support. S.P. Prasad on the harmonium, Ch. Pydiraju and M. Srinivasa Rao on the tabla provided instrumental support. Natyacharya Muralibabu supervised the programme.
