Two sides of the coin

TV SERIALS can bring out different reactions from people. Vivan Bhathena, new MTV VJ, rules out the possibility of serial acting "That is out for me, as I had a bad experience during `Yehi to Pyar Hain'. Everything was disorganised and I was not even paid properly for it. I am completely averse to serials." On the other hand, for Mukesh Khanna, life became interesting only after `Shaktiman'. When I started making Shaktiman', people ridiculed me saying that I would not be able to create a superhero in the scenario that existed then. They said that I was stupid to create a serial for kids in the late night spot. But the same guys were the first to call up and congratulate me when it became a success. I cannot stop `Shaktiman' now. It has become a movement. They are thinking of starting Shaktiman Clubs. It had also started off a few controversies. I earned a lot of goodwill from Shaktiman'," he says.
