Kudumbavilakku

(From Monday to Friday, at 1.30 pm)

This new soap has a family story wherein the man of the house has been long dead and the mother, with three daughters, tries hard to tide over life's problems. Only the eldest daughter, Mallika, is married. Her husband isn't much help. The late father was a very good teacher who practised high thinking and simple living. Mother, Bhanumathi, has a rogue of a brother to complicate matters more. Thus the story takes off. Of jilted girls and Good Samaritans, it has all the makings of a tear jerker. Ashokan takes on a good role. Anju Aravind plays yet another pivotal role. The cast comprises Jayakrishnan, Kaviyoor Renuka, Krishnakumar, G K Pillai. It's directed by Shanthivila Dinesh

(Saturday, 5.30 pm, Sunday, 8.30 am)

This movie-song based show takes you to the holiday spots in the State. Presenter Lijo meets people there and asks them to state their favourite song, which is telecast for you. The boy-next-door image is appealing and the fact that the presenter does not try to outshine those he meets is a plus point.

Itthirineram

Targeted at youth, the show, hosted by Betsy, deals with the dreams and aspirations of youths. Sanjay Mohan directs this programme.
