"Annamalai" gains from "Chithi"

THE ONLY serial with a male name among a sea of women-oriented serials, "Annamalai" is currently zooming up the popularity charts, now that Radhika has made her appearance in it. It looks like diehard "Chithi" fans were looking for one more opportunity to bond with their goddess.

Meanwhile, Lakshmi's bid to become Tamil Nadu's answer to Oprah Winfrey, with her "Kathai Illai Nijam", is facing rough weather with the Juvenile Welfare Board taking exception to how a child victim of sexual abuse was recently featured on the programme. A notice has been served on Lakshmi and the producers of the show, Min Bimbangal, for violation of a child's right to confidentiality.
