Two sides of the coin
TELEVISION SERIALS can bring out different reactions from different people. Vivan Bhathena, new MTV VJ, rules out the possibility of acting in serials. "That is out for me, as I had a bad experience during "Yehi Tho Pyar Hain". Everything was disorganised and I was not even paid properly. I am completely averse to serials."
On the other hand, for Mukesh Khanna, life became interesting only after "Shaktiman". "When I started making "Shaktiman", people ridiculed me saying that I would not be able to create a superhero in the scenario that existed then. They said I was stupid to create a serial for children in the late night slot. But the same guys were the first to call up and congratulate me when it became a success. I cannot stop "Shaktiman" now. It has become a movement. They are thinking of starting "Shaktiman" clubs. It had also led to a few controversies. I earned a lot of goodwill from Shaktiman," he says.
