STAR back on game track
THE CROREPATI echoes are still ringing the sound of bucks in STAR's ears. The channel is now all set to bring back the crorepati game show in a new avatar sometime around Diwali. This time, the channel also plans to export the show to other parts of the world.
A spate of game-cum-reality-cum-talent hunt shows through the year will give additional momentum to the new-look "Kaun Banega Crorepati", which will continue to have Amitabh Bachchan as the host and Siddharth Basu as the producer.
The channel is tight-lipped about the amount of the prize money. Sameer Nair, STAR India chief operating officer, said, "An international company is working on the format of the show." STAR will also do a Hindi adaptation of "Pop Idol", a hit in the U.S., which has elements of general entertainment, reality shows and talent hunt shows.
A Hindi remake of "Risky Business", a show that impressed Sameer Nair when he was in Cannes recently, is being considered as well.
