Disciplined

Like a true-blue blooded celebrity she loves the fawning crowds. "They don't upset me at all," declares actress Tanuja. "I love it when they recognise me — it's like a thank you from them." Even after all these years, there is still scope to discover a new angle to her acting talents. "I took up the role in `Bhoot' because it was so different. I am open to anything interesting and will not compromise on quality." However she feels there should be more meaningful roles for mature actors like her so that they could look at issues from their angle. While she does occasionally watch the classics, Tanuja says she prefers to track the latest developments in the film world because to her "change was the only constant". In town for the inauguration of a tribute to her clan and their contribution to Hindi cinema, Tanuja says she still follows a strict work regimen.
