A FASHION and art extravaganza titled "A Legend of Ravi Varma" will feature a collection of paintings by the legendary royal painter Raja Ravi Varma and others inspired by him. These include M.V. Dhurandher, Suhas Bahulkar, Surjeet Kaur, Gayatri Ruia and Smriti Dixit among others. The show is being co-hosted by Apparao Galleries (Chennai) and the fashion house Satya Paul. The exhibition will be previewed at the J.W. Marriott Hotel Juhu Tara Road on April 15 at 6 p.m. and will move to Kimaya, 2, Asha Colony, Juhu Tara Road, (Ph: 98920 10003) until April 20. FIVE award-winning students from MS University, Baroda are showing "The Uprising", a group show of the work at the Son et Lumiere gallery on Wodehouse Road. FOR theatre aficionados, the week starting this Sunday (March 13) offers Rahul da Cunha's "Class of '84" Cast: Sohrab Ardeshir and Dipika Roy Andrews at the NCPA, 7:30pm.On April 17, 6:30p.m, "Chor... Chor!" an English play reading about an old lady and a novice thief in the Godrej A V Room. Same evening, same time, the British Council Auditorium has "Whatever You Say" starring Tom Alter, Mona Ambegaonkar and Sanjeev Vatsa. "Indu Kale Va Sarla Bhole" a Marathi play about six people, their idealism, dilemmas and plurality of beliefs is on at the NCPA's Experimental Theatre on April 19.
