Focus Sahgal

IT is a subject that has been on her mind for a while. And rather than just brush it away, writer Nayantara Sahgal has expressed her concerns in her new book, Lesser Breeds. While the book calls upon people to re-look at non-violence once again, specially in the face of American decision to go to war, Sahgal said that the "anti-war demonstrations, the world over, proved" her point. Regretting the fact that India no longer was a voice to be heard internationally on many issues and did not make an impact at all, Sahgal said, "Earlier this country crackled with ideas. Now we don't even have a single anti-war demonstration here." Writing fiction after a long break, for Sahgal, this has been like a homecoming.
