BRIAN GODBOLD, believes that fashion is about personalising details and giving it an individualistic stamp that sets apart the truly fashion conscious from those who follow the herd. To quote him, fashion "is timeless and not seasonal.'' Godbold, who was here to attend a interactive fashion seminar called "Fashion Machine", organised by the British Council, has also been responsible for pulling the famous Marks & Spencer (U.K.) out of the dowdy image that it had acquired. Though he was fascinated by the textures and textiles of India as well as the myriad colours its people wore, Godbold felt that Indian designers had to adopt a more modern line in order to go international. He said in order to survive, fashion labels had to be creative and keep reinventing themselves.
