I have finished my B.E (ECE). I want to do my post graduation in NITs or IITs. What are the examinations I should take to get the admission? Mukeil V The admissions to postgraduate programmes (M.Tech) of IITs and NITs are through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE is an all-India entrance examination conducted by GATE committee, which includes Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The question paper consists of 65 questions carrying 100 marks and has to be answered in three hours. The questions are multiple-choice type and wrong answers carry negative marks. The score will be valid for one year.
