(Questions answered on career concerns)

I am scared offacing the G.D round as my communication skills are not good. But for placement in any company I need to pass through this round. How do I overcome this problem?

Ashwani Dahiya

This problem is known as nervousness. When we do any activity for the first time we are bound to experience this state. It is an emotion that we need to control. It can be overcome with a little practice. You should gather a few of your friends in a casual atmosphere and together have a mock group discussion session. Take that session in a serious manner as if some company HR person is observing you. Put out all your ideas and views across in the session. After the session, each of you must assess the others and come out with a rating.

Have a few more sessions of this type so that you gradually overcome your fears. This will also help you in polishing your communication skills.
