I am the trump card of 'Luck': Ravi Kissen

Mumbai (PTI): Bhojpuri star Ravi Kissen, who won accolades for his role in Welcome to Sajjanpur, says he is the "trump card" in his upcoming release Luck, where he essays the character of a psychopath.

"I am the trump card of the film and play a psychopath, who is madly in love with Shruti (Haasan). But my character is not negative and does not have grey shades," Ravi told PTI here.

The actor said he has undergone a change of look for the movie, which hits the screen on July 24. "I lost about 15 kgs," he said.

Ravi, who shares screen space with veterans like Mithun Chakraborty, Danny Denzongpa and Sanjay Dutt in the movie is happy about his second stint in Bollywood.

"I am enjoying my second innings in Bollywood, but will not quit Bhojpuri cinema," he said.

"The regional industry has given me an identity and I will not leave it. I have decided to cut down on Bhojpuri films and concentrate on about 5-6 films a year. Earlier, I used to work in 14-15 films at one time," the actor said.

Welcome.. did wonders for me, he said adding he has completed shooting for Shyam Benegal's film Well done Abbaji and Mani Ratnam's Ravan with Abhishek and Aishwarya.

On whether he was apprehensive of working with Soham Shah, whose debut film Kaal flopped, Ravi said, "Before Tere Naam, all my films had flopped and I struggled for 19 years to make a mark for myself."

Soham Shah's Luck, marks the debut of musician-actor Shruti Haasan opposite Imran Khan.

Ravi said the movie is an adventure flick and is unique in its concept of dealing with human betting.

"I am not at all adventurous in real life. I have a family with kids," he added.
