Hamburg (PTI): Leander Paes and his partner Tommy Robredo went down fighting against second seeded pair of Daniel Nestor and Nenand Zimonjic in their semifinal encounter to crash out of the euro 2,270,000 Hamburg ATP Master Series event here on Saturday.

After losing the first set, the unseeded Indo-Spanish combo put up a spirited fight to capture the second but could not continue with the momentum in the tie breaker to eventually lose 3-6 6-3 2-10 against Canada-Serbia duo.

Mahesh Bhupathi and his partner Mark Knowles of Bahamas had crashed out of the tournament in the pre-quarterfinals.
