    'Militant' killed in encounter

    Imphal (PTI): A suspected militant was killed in an encounter with police commandos at Yurembam in Imphal East district of Manipur, official sources said on Sunday.

    Commandos attached to Imphal West district police raided Yurembam area, about eight km from here, Saturday following reports that some militants were roaming in the area.

    As they carried on the operation, suspected militants fired at them and in the gun-battle an unidentified militant was killed.
