Patna (PTI): Six persons were injured, one of them seriously, when an engine hit them at Sugauli railway station on Raxual-Narkatiaganj section of the East Central Railway on Saturday, police said.

The brake of the engine suddenly failed and slowly hit them when they were crossing the railway tracks at the station, sources said.

Of the injured, an old man was hospitalised while others were discharged after receiving first-aid, they said.

Angry locals demonstrated before the office of the Station Master protesting against the incident, sources said.
