    Noida murder takes sensational turn

Noida (PTI): The killing of a teenaged girl here on Saturday took a sensational turn with the recovery of the body of the prime suspect, the domestic help, from the terrace of the house, tell-tale evidence of the second murder which the police had ignored for a whole day.

Uttar Pradesh DGP Vikram Singh admitted to bungling on part of Noida Police missing this crucial evidence following which the Special Task Force has been inducted into the investigations.

Surprisingly, the body of Yam Prasad Banjade (45) alias Hemraj, a person of Nepali origin whom the police suspected as having stabbed Aarushi Talwar (15) on Thursday, was found by a former police official K K Gautam this morning.

Gautam, who had gone to the house to offer condolences, found blood stains on the stairs leading to the open terrace and found the door locked.

In the absence of keys and the parents of the murdered girl, who had gone to Haridwar to perform religious rites, the lock was broken open and they were stunned to find the body of Hemraj which had started decomposing, leaving a strong stench around.

Hemraj was found with his throat slit and his body dragged, Gautam said. There were signs of apparent struggle between Hemraj and his killer with the marks of blood-soaked palm on the wall.

The water in the cooler had also turned blood-red indicating that the killer has tried to wash his hands.

With the recovery of the body of the servant, police now say that they have changed the line of investigation and were looking into the possibility of involvement of a third person.
