Girls fare better in TN than boys in plus two exams
Chennai (PTI): Girl students fared better than boys in Tamil Nadu plus two board examination, the results of which was released by the Directorate of Government Examinations here on Friday.
The overall pass percentage had increased to 84.4 per cent compared to last year's 81 per cent, Director of Government Examinations Vasanthi Jeevanandam said announcing the results.
While girls recorded a pass percentage of 87.3 per cent, the boys' pass percentage was 81.3. A total of 6,41,230 students appeared for the examination this year, she added.
Two students, R Dharani of Vidhyavikas GHSS in Namakkal district and M Rajeshkumar of St Joseph's HSS in Chengalpattu shared the first rank with a total of 1182 out of 1200.
A Ramya of KKNG HSS, Erode and S Thalabathik Kumara Vikram of Vidya Vikash MHSS, Namakkal ranked second by scoring 1181.
The number of students, who secured an aggregate of 60 per cent and above was 3,60,722 compared to last year's 3,29,091.
