Annual day

Nandhikeshwar Thala Vidyalaya, (4/5, Balasubramaniam Street, Nemilichery, Chromepet), headed by mridangam artist Thillaistanam R.Suryanarayan, celebrated its 14 annual day on July 13.

The venue was Chromepet Cultural Academy Trust premises.

The highlight was the scintillating performance by the disciples of R.Suryanarayanan, which included a demonstration of different talas.

Flautist Raju Muthukrishna Iyer, mridangam craftsmen F.Melgis and A.Sowriyar were honoured on the occasion for their contributions to the field of Carnatic music.

Afternoon programme included recitals by the students of Kavitha Murali.

Keyboard music by K.Sathyanarayanan was featured in the evening.

Prizes and mementos were distributed to the students.
