War over a powerful talisman -- Transformers

Photo: Robert Zuckerman

Transformers.

A battle raged on Cybertron, a far away planet. The fight was between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that gives unlimited power to its owner.

Directed by Michael Bay, ‘Transformers’ faintly resembles the ‘Terminator.’ Slated for release on August 15, it stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Jon Voight among others.

The storyline lands one on Earth (circa 1850). The Autobots manage to smuggle the Allspark off their planet but Megatron, who blasts off in search of it, eventually tracks it to Earth. He ends up in the Arctic Ocean. The sheer cold paralyses him and he is found by Captain Archibald Witwicky.

Before going into a comatose state, he uses the last of his energy to engrave a map that pinpoints the Allspark’s location, into the Captain’s glasses.

A century later, Sam Witwicky buys his first car. To his shock he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise.

But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth, the Decepticons have also sent theirs, Blackout and Scorponok. And the war continues…with Sam and his girlfriend caught in between.
