On the sets ... director Vikraman talks to Madhavan.
AVM HAS just relaxed after finishing its its 165th film, "Priyamana Thozhi," directed by Vikraman with Madhavan and Jyothika in the lead.
M. Saravanan, Managing Partner, is confident that "Priyamana Thozhi" will bring families back to the theatre. ``Vikraman's films are clean entertainment and it suits AVM," says Saravanan. The songs music composed by S. A. Rajkumar are already hits.
"I'm proud to have worked for AVM," says Vikraman. "I was a little nervous at first but settled down fast. For the first time all the songs have been shot in three foreign countries Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland," he says.
Vikraman is all praise for the main stars, Madhavan and Jyothika. "This is Sridevi's second film and she has produced a mature performance," he says. "I select the artistes to suit the characters and not the other way round. I'm happy with the way the film has come out," he says.
Vikraman, who usually does not reveal the story to his unit, made an exception this time. In fact he insisted that Saravanan listened to the story and also see the rush print.
Madhavan generally gives directors suggestions. But this time around he chose to be quiet and simply followed Vikraman's instructions. "I promised the director that I'd do exactly as he wanted me to and I kept my promise. The rushes seem good," he said.
Jyothika says she wanted a change from the bubbly tomboyish character she usually plays. And Vikraman offered her one. "I am the wife of Madhavan and the story has some interesting twists and turns after my entry. I enjoyed working for AVM. The producers Saravanan and Guhan took very good care of the unit."
Sridevi says it is a dream role. "This is my second film and to land the title role in an AVM film directed by Vikraman!"
