Zee to dish out a new curry
Zee Network teams up with France TV and Silhouette Films to co-produce "One Dollar Curry". While Zee Network is said to be a formidable producer and aggregator of Hindi programming worldwide, France Television is a popular public television channel in France and quality cinema has been the hallmark of its film productions. The other co-producer, Silhouette Films, is a production house based in London and New Delhi, with a strong presence in France. "One Dollar Curry" is Zee Network's first initiative that aims to appeal to both Indian and international audience. This is Vijay Singh's second movie as producer. His first film, "Jaya Ganga", was a huge success in Europe. Vijay Singh is also the director of "One Dollar Curry".
"One Dollar Curry" will revolve round an Indian immigrant, Nishan, (Vikram Chatwal) who makes it big in France by opening the first desi mobile kitchen, "One Dollar Curry", for Indian cuisine. Smriti Mishra (of Sardari Begum fame) plays Yamini, the entrepreneur's fiancée, who, along with his friends, helps Nishan. The punch line comes when at the end Nishan chuckles, "Now that I have a chef's job will someone tell me how to cook."
