Students' plight

Sir, — A totally new syllabus has been introduced for the second year engineering students, which is the first batch coming under the Anna University. Most of the books by foreign authors are not available in the market and are also very costly. Neither is the faculty thorough with the syllabus. All these have caused many failures, leaving parents and students in a pitiable plight.
