Naveen Patnaik denies Orissa `link'
By Our Staff Reporter
BHUBANESWAR
NOV. 17.
The Orissa Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, has denied that his Government has links with the Judev episode though different political parties today demanded that the Orissa angle in the Judev CVD controversy be brought under the purview of investigation. The issue is likely to embarrass Mr. Patnaik, who has all along made "transparency'' a trump card.
"This kind of suggestions is baseless and ridiculous. I am disappointed,'' Mr. Patnaik told presspersons here on his return from Koraput district this morning. "We have a transparent system.''
The transcript of the VCD purportedly showing the Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests, Dilip Singh Judev, who has since resigned from office, made it clear that Mr. Judev had accepted money for getting mining rights in Chhattisgarh and also influenced the Orissa Chief Minister for mining rights in Orissa.
