CBI probe not enough: Cong.

By Our Staff Correspondent

RAIPUR NOV. 17. The Congress today demanded the arrest of the Union Minister, Dilip Singh Judev, in view of the allegations of corruption against him.

At a press conference here, the AICC observer to Chhattisgarh, R.K. Dhawan said merely referring the case to the CBI would not serve any purpose. He should be treated like any other individual caught in such a situation. Also, by seeking Mr. Judev's resignation, the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had `proved' that he was convinced of the Minister's guilt, he claimed.

However, Mr. Judev found a supporter in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president, V.C. Shukla, who said the serious charges needed to be investigated properly. He, however, admitted that the episode would affect the BJP's prospects in the coming elections.
