Nedumaran acquitted

By Our Staff Reporter

DINDIGUL NOV. 10. The Dindigul principal sub-court judge, Sundara Nadar, this evening acquitted the Tamil Desiya Iyakkam leader, P. Nedumaran, in the Vannampatti case saying the police failed to establish the charges.

Mr. Nedumaran was accused of making remarks against the State Government at the public meeting held at Vannampatti near Sempatti town on June 11, 1992.

Twelve 12 witnesses, produced by the police, were examined and four documents verified in this case.

Mr. Nedumaran, who was produced, amid tight security, before the principal sub-court, said the judgment was a victory to `dharma' and truth.

Hearing in another case in connection with his ``anti-government remarks'' at a public meeting held at Poolathur in the Kodaikanal hills has been postponed to November 25.
