Cricket team will tour Pak., says Dalmiya

By Our Sports Reporter

KOLKATA NOV. 9. India would tour Pakistan early next year to revive the cricketing ties at the senior level, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jagmohan Dalmiya, said here on Sunday.

"With the Government clearing bilateral tours at all levels" between the two neighbours, the Indian team would be touring Pakistan " two weeks after it returns from Australia in February 2004," he said.

Cricketing visits have already begun between the two countries at the junior level as India had toured Pakistan and triumphed in the Asian Cup (under-19) at Lahore.

The `A' teams of India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are scheduled to play a tournament in India in December.

Mr. Dalmiya said the details of India's Pakistan tour itinerary were being worked out, adding that it would be a "full tour of Tests and ODIs".

The last Pakistan tour to India was in 1999 and it is now India's turn to visit Pakistan. The tour will be followed by the Asia Cup, which is likely to come up in April.
