Ananthamurthy were on the dais, equally renowned personalities were among the audience. The Legislative Council Chairman, B.L. Shankar, the former Union Minister and MP, C.K. Jaffer Sharief, the Home Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge, the Minister for Women and Child Development, Motamma, the Minister for Small-scale Industries, R. Roshan Baig, the Minister of State for Kannada and Culture, Rani Satish, the Minister of State for Power, Basavaraj Patil Humnabad, the Minister of State for Science and Technology, Nafees Fazal, were present. The writer, Girish Karnad, the former Foreign Secretary, A.P. Venkateswaran, the veteran journalists, C.M. Ramachandra and P. Ramiah, the Editor of Deccan Herald, K.N. Shanta Kumar, its former Editor, K.N. Hari Kumar, and K.N. Tilak Kumar of the Deccan Herald-Prajavani Group, the freedom fighter, H.S. Doreswamy, the artist, D.J. Balraj, Nandini Alva, danseuse, and the former FKCCI President, Panduranga Setty, were present. The city Police Commissioner, S. Mariswamy, also attended.
