Archery contest held for tribals

KURNOOL July 16. The Police Department and the District Sports Authority sponsored an archery competition for Chenchus at Atmakur on Wednesday. The SP, N. Sanjay, who inaugurated the camp, said 20 selected archers would be trained in Hyderabad to enable them to participate in the national level events.

In all, there were 120 participants, including 20 women. Thirty were selected for prizes. All of them would be given orientation for a month here before selecting 20 for the special. The SP said efforts would be made for setting up an archery academy in the district.
