Vehicle strike banned

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM JULY 16. The Kerala Government has banned the ongoing vehicle strike demanding the withdrawal of the recent hike in the motor vehicle tax.

It has declared as essential services the movement of goods in lorries, trucks, tempos and trekkers and the operation of services by contract carriages under the Essential Services Maintenance Act.

This has been done in the context of the organisers' refusal to withdraw the strike launched on Monday midnight.
