I'll go by party's declared stand, says Murali

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM July 16. The KPCC president, K. Muraleedharan, has said that he will stick to the declared policy of the Congress regarding minority rights and that he will not mind remitting office to fight this cause.

In an interview to a private channel, Mr. Muraleedharan said that there was nothing wrong in a section of Congressmen approaching the party high command seeking a leadership change. ``There were several KPCC office-bearers who demanded his resignation in the aftermath of the Rajya Sabha elections. Similarly, no one can forget the demand for leadership change made by a section of the partymen in 1995,'' he said.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, M.M. Hassan, came out strongly against Mr. Muraleedharan for his alleged criticism of the Chief Minister. Mr. Muraleedharan had said that the high command had the right medicine for Mr. Antony whose remarks on majority-minority equations had become a controversial subject.
