Viral fever: Central team for A.P.

NEW DELHI July 16. A Central team of 10 paediatricians is leaving here for Andhra Pradesh tomorrow (Thursday) to help the State Government tackle the viral fever epidemic, which has claimed over 100 lives.

The team led by A.K. Dutta, Head of the Paediatrics Department of the Government-run Lady Hardinge Hospital would include experts from the Safdarjung Hospital and also the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

A team of experts from the National Institute of Communicable Diseases and the Indian Council of Medical Research is already in the State to investigate the cause of the epidemic. Preliminary tests have shown that it could be due to Japanese Encephalitis.
