Andi Thevar arrested

MADURAI JULY 10. The former MLA and All-India Forward Bloc (Andi Thevar faction) general secretary, S. Andi Thevar, was arrested today in connection with the mysterious missing of his son, Sivaraman, since 2000. According to police sources, Sivaraman was reported missing in the Thideer Nagar police station limits and his whereabouts were not known for long. The case was later transferred to the CB-CID. Based on specific information that Mr. Andi Thevar "kidnapped Sivaraman for the purpose of murder", the police arrested him along with his younger son, Panneerselvam, and a party functionary, Periyakaruppan alias Pasumpon.
