Stray incidents of skirmishes and accusations of rigging marred the elections in which representatives of the panchayat and municipal bodies, besides MLAs and MPs, exercised their franchise to decide the fate of over 1000 candidates. Three candidates Rakesh Yadav, Uday Kumar Singh and Vivek Kumar wanted by the police in different criminal cases, were arrested from Munger, Saharsa and Patna districts, following the Patna High Court directive to cancel the candidature of those absconding, evading the law.
