By Hasan Suroor
In a letter to the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, the Council chairman, Munaf Zeena, said Mr. Advani's conciliatory remarks during his recent visits to the U.K. had been widely welcomed and raised hopes that this would ease the pressure on the Muslim community in Gujarat. But the ``intimidation'' of the bakery case eyewitnesses, and the acquittal of all the 21 accused showed that things had not changed. Mr. Zeena complained that the ``vast majority'' of those arrested in Gujarat in connection with last year's violence were Muslims.
