Widespread rain in A.P.

HYDERABAD JULY 10. For the first time this season, there was widespread rain in the State through Wednesday-Thursday with the South-West monsoon turning "vigorous'' in Telangana and Rayalaseema and "active'' in coastal Andhra due to a low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra-south Orissa coast.

The State Met Office issued a heavy rainfall warning, valid for Friday-Saturday, to Krishna, Guntur, Nellore, Prakasam, Chittoor and Cuddapah districts.

Utnoor in Adlabad district recorded the heaviest fall during the 24-hour period ended this morning, at 9 cm, followed by Ramagundam, Mahabubabad, Mancherial with 8 cm. Kaleswaram, Pakala and Prakasam Barrage with 7 cm each.
