Letters to the Editor
Sir, Your Editorial, `CAS and confusion' ( July 3 ), was apt. While announcing a package deal of Rs. 72/- per month against 30 free-to-air channels in April 2003, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry must have taken into consideration all the aspects that are being debated as late as now. Apparently, the broadcasters and cable operators want to exploit the weakness of TV viewers. A majority of viewers are not addicted to TV programmes. The public can desist from paying hefty fees each month now being forced on them. G.S. Embar, Neyveli, T.N.
