Sir, The Supreme Court judgment in the Bofors payoff case striking down the verdict of the Delhi Court quashing the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation against the Hinduja brothers is a shot in the arm for the bureau. The Delhi High Court's interpretation of the Vineet Narain case was totally against the spirit of justice. But the SC judgment has set right the anomaly created by the Delhi HC only to an extent and not fully. This is because, due to the HC judgment delivered in the middle of 2002, the Hinduja brothers have succeeded in delaying the judicial process by a hefty time period. By the delay caused due to the Delhi High Court's judgment, we can say that justice has been denied to an extent. But as it has been pointed out in your Editorial, when the Hinduja brothers are claiming innocence in this matter why should they be trying to delay the proceedings by hook or by crook? This question of course will be equally applicable to almost all the heavyweights who are facing corruption charges. M.D. Ravikanth, Kanchipuram, T.N.
