Letters to the Editor
Sir, "Justice delayed is justice denied" this maxim says everything that one wishes to complain about after struggling in courts. Your Editorial, "Bofors revived" ( July 9 ) has hinted at an important loophole in our judicial system. Be it the Vineet Narain/Jain hawala case or Bofors or any other similar case, especially where political parties are involved, they are unnecessarily delayed. The persons enjoy the sweet shadow of our system and roam around with full freedom. It is the victim who ultimately realises his or her mistake for daring to bring them to "justice." This is the real state: it takes years to prove a clearly visible culprit an actual criminal. If nothing is done to improve this, soon courts will lose their value for the ordinary citizens. Sandeep Datta, New Delhi.
