NEW YORK: Sales of the former U.S. First Lady Hillary Clinton's memoir, Living History, have surpassed the one million-mark in just one month. "Given the quality of Living History, we knew it would find a large audience; what has been particularly exciting is the speed with which it has achieved such unprecedented sales levels," Carolyn Reidy, president, Simon and Schuster Adult Publishing Group, said on Wednesday. The sales figures are something of a vindication for the publishers, whose decision to order an initial print run of one million copies had been questioned by many who felt political biographies had limited appeal. It also means the company has justified the $8 million advance paid to Ms. Clinton. Driving sales of Living History, which covers an eventful eight years in the White House, are Ms. Clinton's first public comments on former President Bill Clinton's infidelities. AP
