Cong. MP remanded

RANCHI JULY 9. The Congress MP, Rajo Singh, today surrendered before the Special CBI Court here, in connection with the fodder scam case and was remanded to 14 days judicial custody by the Special Judge, P.R. Das.

A non-bailable warrant was issued last month against him in connection with a "fraudulent withdrawal" of money from the Chaibasa and Doranda treasuries to the tune of Rs. 37 crores and Rs. 187 crores respectively.

The CBI filed the chargesheet after obtaining the sanction of the Bihar Assembly Speaker as the case pertained to the period when Mr. Singh was an MLA.
