`An insult to the Acharya'

By S. Vijay Kumar

Kanyakumari July 6. The All-India Muslim Personal Law Board's rejection of the Kanchi Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswati's proposals was an insult to the Acharya and Hindus, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad international secretary, Pravin Togadia, said today.

The RSS joint general secretary, Madandas Devi, said, "we were expecting that the Acharya's efforts will bring success, but I think it will take more time."

Ashok Singhal, VHP international president, said that though the Acharya's proposals were "alright", the issue of obtaining a "no-objection" from the Muslim Law Board on the undisputed site was confusing since "there was no undisputed site left".
