A resolution adopted at the concluding session of its two-day national executive meet here, the RSS lauded India's efforts to improve its relations with the neighbouring countries, but cautioned that the Centre should not `ignore the lessons of history' while dealing with Pakistan and China. India should keep in mind the role played by them in the past before negotiating any peace settlements. Pakistan had `gifted' a part of Jammu and Kashmir, which it had `annexed' to China, and the latter had `occupied' a large tract of land in Ladakh region through aggression. China was `not ready' to accept India's sovereignty over Sikkim and `portrayed' Arunachal Pradesh as part of its territory in its maps and expanded its diplomatic influence in Nepal and Myanmar. Therefore, the Centre has to exercise caution in negotiating for peace and should not `compromise' on national integrity and sovereignty, the RSS resolution said.
