Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram
The City Police Commissioner, Rajan Singh, when contacted, said it was found to be a case of innocent possession of fake currency. The case was likely to be transferred to the Crime Branch (Counterfeit Squad) shortly. Official sources said the papers of the foreigner were found to be bona fide. The man had obtained Indian currency from an exchange in Bahrain. The quality of the fake notes was such that it was difficult to tell them apart from genuine notes. Except one, all the other security features were present on the notes. "It may the work of a well-organised network,'' said an official.
