Karnataka-Bangalore
By Our Staff Reporter
Situated on Outer Ring Road, down the bridge from Marathahalli, the multiplex is a combination of a shopping centre, food court, games arcade, and four cinemas. Four movies will be screened at a time. Built on 90,000 sq. ft. of land, the Rs. 12-crore project has four cinema screens. Two of the cinemas began screening movies on Friday. The cinemas are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and can accommodate 352 persons. Flexible fares for different shows are one of the highlights of the multiplex. According to Saravana Prasad, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, the multiplex was aimed at providing entertainment for the family. The company, he said, also intended to open multiplexes in Mysore and Mangalore. He said it wanted to provide complete entertainment solutions on par with international standards. Bangalore was a tech-savvy city, but it lacked good entertainment facilities. It last saw new theatre technology 20 years ago, he added. The multiplex culture has only begun in the city. The Prestige Group, for instance, is poised to launch Forum in October or November. Once launched, this multiplex will boast of a "people space" of 3.5 lakh sq. ft. with two floors of retail space, one floor of food courts, and an 11-screen cinema hall. This should rank as one of the biggest multiplexes in the country.
