Two college students drowned

CHENNAI JUNE 27. Two students of an engineering college near Tambaram drowned when they went for a swim in the Bay of Bengal near Kovalam.

According to police, Sudhakar and Kamalachander, students of the college at Selaiyur, went on an excursion along with 17 others to Kovalam this evening.

They stepped into the water for a swim when the two were swept away by a wave. Their bodies were later washed ashore.
