The leader of the BJP group, Prem Kumar Dhumal, preferred to remain inside the Opposition lounge along with the other MLAs. But as a mark of protest, all of them wore black strips on their mouths. They also carried small posters with slogans like "Mein badla (revenge), badli (transfers) or atyachar (throttling democracy) ki sarkar hoon -- Virbhadra'' and "No democracy, only Tughlaq orders -- Virbhadra'', written on them. Mr Dhumal, who along with the other MLAs did a round of the Assembly premises, told mediapersons that the Congress was not allowing them to speak either inside or outside the House. He alleged that the Congress was repeating "emergency rule'' and behaving with extreme high-headedness. There was no need for such repression when the MLAs had peacefully gathered to register their protest while commemorating the 28th anniversary of the Emergency era of 1975, he added. Mr Mahendra Singh Thakur of Him Loktantrik Morcha said "the feudal attitude of Virbhadra Singh'' had resulted in the incident of cane-charge on the elected representative on June 25.
