The lot of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the backward classes and the minorities could fundamentally change only when the Bahujan Samaj Party was able to have its Government in at least a substantial number of States, she said. A BSP victory in some more Hindi-speaking States, besides U.P., could pave the way for the "party's march to the Centre". Talking to newspersons here, she said that during the past one year, ever since she assumed office, there had been a marked improvement in the law and order situation as also in developmental activities.
